"In 2015, Airbnb meant 425,000 nights per day in the world, that is 20% more than Hilton hotels. At the beginning, it was offered on the platform an original and a bit rudimentary alternative compared to hotel offers: most of the offers were Air Bed & Breakfast (Airbnb) in a corner of apartment - an air matress and a breakfast. Icon of the sharing economy and owning no flat, Airbnb is valued at $22.6 billions, as much as Hilton hotels ($24.6 bn)..."
